Thanks Volunteers

Dear Volunteers,

You set a new record in November!

In the “Monthly Results” section in this newsletter you will notice that, in November, we filled and distributed 712 boxes to feed 485 families.

You folks are amazing in your dedication to feed our neighbors who are hungry. We don’t tell you often enough how much we appreciate you and love you.

Blessings,

Ginger and Gary

Good Neighbors Reopened in November.

Good Neighbors reopened on November 6, 2012. Twenty-two families were waiting in line for assistance when we opened. All during the month we have experienced a steady stream of neighbors needing help.

In the “Monthly Results” section of this newsletter we are reporting that grants in excess of $2100 were issued to the utilities providers on behalf of 29 families during November.

Please consider helping us in this ministry. Checks may be made payable to “MCCM Good Neighbors” and mail to MCCM, PO Box 681, Sequatchie, TN 37374

Thanks to You: 600 Hams given away for Holidays

MCCM purchased 600 hams to give away for Thanksgiving and Christmas. While we have given away over half, the rest will be given away in the next few weeks leading up to Christmas.

Many thanks to those individuals, families, groups, churches, Sunday school classes, service clubs and businesses in Marion County who helped us offset the cost of these hams. We and the neighbors we serve greatly appreciate your help.

Annual Coat, Warm Clothing, and Blanket Drive

Our annual coat, warm clothing and blanket drive continues through January 2013.

You can help by donating a coat, jacket, sweater or blanket. These can be new or used and all sizes are welcome.

Now is your chance to clean out your closets and help some folks stay warm this winter. It may even warm your heart.

We are open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10am until noon to accept your donation.

Churches, please consider holding a drive to collect these items.

Volunteers Needed for Good Neighbors

We need folks who are willing to work the Good Neighbors

  • reception desk and/or as a
  • client counselor.

Both positions require some computer skills to work with the Good Neighbors interface in our Client Management System. Training is provided.

Please let Gary know.

Hams for Thanksgiving.

As we did last year we will be giving away 600 1 pound hams. Since each food box feeds one to three people we will be placing one ham in each box.

If you or your group, church, Sunday school class, service club, etc. would like to help offset the cost of these hams they cost us approximately $4.00 each. Checks should be payable to MCCM and mailed to PO Box 681, Sequatchie, TN 37374.
