On Thursday, April 25, MCCM and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank(CAFB), will conduct another Bonus Days drive-through event from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The food bank will be closed for normal operations on that day. The rain-date for the event will be May 2. Pictures of the March event can be seen by clicking HERE.
YES! It is hard work, but the work is fun and very rewarding.
Please consider helping us on those dates. Plan on being at MCCM at 9:00 a.m. so we can set up prior to distribution of the food.
In our earlier discussions with CAFB we had tentatively planned on doing one of these events monthly. Later discussions determined that these events should be scheduled no more than one event every 3 months.
If you have been in the MCCM facility recently you probably noticed that the lighting is much brighter. We have new fluorescent lights fixtures installed thanks to independent, licensed electrician and Good Neighbor Jason Middlebrooks.
Jason and his family attend Jasper First Baptist and they are Saturday volunteers at the food bank.
Thanks Jason! We appreciate you!
Whomever coined that phrase obviously did not know about our sister ministry in Marion County to feed the hungry. Cornerstone Ministry operates the Sequatchie Valley Community Kitchen. On the last Saturday of every month, beginning at 1:00 p.m., the Community Kitchen serves a Free Lunch. The next two dates for this wonderful event are March 23rd and April 27th.
The Rev. Dr, Richard Lewelling, also one of our volunteers at MCCM, directs the operation. If you or a group from your church would like to volunteer to help contact Richard at (423) 942-1090.
