Refrigeration News at MCCM

Posted on by

Normally, news about refrigeration is not considered exciting by most folks. At MCCM that changed recently and we are excited to announce our news.

Thanks to several donors we have a new refrigerator to replace the old one that finally quit. In addition we have received donations of three freezers. These freezers enable us to take advantage of donations of frozen meats and vegetables from WalMart nearly every Friday.

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank frequently has low cost or no-cost meats available. We are able now to take advantage of this availability.

This means that we are able to provide on a more regular basis additional sources of protein for our neighbors which means better nutrition.

Thanks to all who are making it possible for us to better serve our friends and neighbors in the community.

The heating of our building of late has ranged from barely adequate to completely inadequate and ineffective. On one day last month the outside temperature was in the single digits and the HVAC system could barely maintain temperatures in the low 40’s and so we had to close.

Our heat/air system is finally back up and running at capacity thanks to the efforts of Service Now who donated the time and materials to repair the system. It seems that the building crawl space had become a spa for dogs, who, in their efforts to enjoy the warmth we provided, had managed to pull down duct work in several places.

Sorry, Scooby Doo! We have closed the spa and plugged up the entrance.

Many thanks Service Now!
