Something Else to Be Thankful For

As the demand for food grows, YOU, the folks who support us and help us, respond so that there always seems to be enough (think loaves and fishes) rise to the occasion and meet the need.

During October we distributed in excess of 22,000 pounds of food, that is 11 tons of food or 22 pickup truck loads, to 635 families in Marion County. To meet that need, Whitwell Elementary School, in cooperation with First Volunteer Bank conducted a food drive in which resulted in them giving 4,500 pounds of food plus $480.00 cash. Walmart donated another 4,500 pounds of food, including frozen meats, dairy, bakery items, and cans of food.

With the money that YOU donated we were able to buy 5,400 tax-free pounds of food at a substantial discount from the Shop-Rite in Jasper and another 7,600 pounds of food from the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

THANK YOU!
